The People’s National Movement condemns what it sees as a blatant attempt by Opposition parties to humiliate its party in the presence of Caricom leaders.
The PNM is claiming that both the United National Congress and the Congress of the People tried to embarrass the country when regional leaders were in Port of Spain last weekend.
The party says that its investigations have revealed that unsigned advertisements appearing in the print media addressed to Caricom leaders were in fact placed by the Congress of the People.
The PNM says while it respects the rights of parties to campaign, it sees the behaviour as unpatriotic.
The party further stated that, neither new nor old politics should be a reason for humiliation of the country’s leaders in the eyes of their foreign counterparts. |
