The United States defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 in their World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday night in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

All three goals for the US team were scored by Josie Altidore who scored in the 12th. 70th and 88th minute. 

His efforts have put the US at the top of their group standings ahead of Mexico and Costa Rica. 

The game which was played in front of a capacity crowd saw the US taking an early lead and completely dominating play.

Although TnT strikers Stern John and Kenwyn Jones both had some anxious moments on front of the US goals their efforts were in vain.

The Trinidad and Tobago team is now in a must win situation when they come up against Costa Rica, if they want to advance to World Cup South Africa 2010.

The three top teams from the CONCACAF region would advance to the World Cup finals
